Republican Boxing Tournament with 180 Athletes Concludes in Shalkar

The city of Shalkar hosted a republican boxing tournament dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Munke Bi. As part of the event, the Akim’s Cup was contested. The tournament took place from March 4 to 9 among young athletes born in 2011-2012.
Held at Youth Sports School No. 2, the competition brought together 180 boxers from various regions of Kazakhstan. The tournament aimed to develop boxing, promote patriotism, and instill national spirit among young athletes. A total of 12 teams from Almaty, Zhambyl, North Kazakhstan, and Kyzylorda regions participated.
A special guest at the tournament was Aslanbek Shymbergenov, a world boxing champion, two-time Asian Games winner, and international master of sports. He shared his experience with the young athletes and wished them success in their fights.
According to the final results, the Shalkar team secured 1st place, winning 3 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal. Zhambyl region took 2nd place, while Kyzylorda region finished in 3rd place.
The award ceremony was attended by Shalkar district Akim Zhanbolat Zhidekhanov, descendants of Munke Bi, and representatives of the “Munke Bi” Foundation. The winners received custom-designed medals, certificates of appreciation, and championship belts in each weight category. The best-performing team was awarded the Akim’s Cup.
