Kazakhstan Defeats Austria at U18 Ice Hockey World Championship

Kazakhstan’s U18 national hockey team secured its second victory at the Division IA World Championship, currently taking place in Hungary.

Before the match against Austria, the coaching staff made only one change — Danil Lytkin replaced Tanirkhan Alpyssbayev as the starting goaltender.

In the first period, Kazakhstan scored three unanswered goals. The opener came from Beksultan Makys, followed by goals from Aristarkh Kireyev and Ruslan Tusupbekov. In the third period, Austria narrowed the gap, but Sanzhar Ibragim sealed the win with an empty-net goal. Final score: 4–2.

Kazakhstan now has two wins and two losses in the tournament. The next game will be against Ukraine on April 26, starting at 22:30 Astana time.
